New Staff Page UI

By | Feature / Release | No Comments

The next time you go to add a new employee to your staff page, you may notice that the Edit Staff Page UI in the CMS has changed:

Edit Staff Page

We have made some improvements to the look and feel, along with improving the overall user experience when adding or editing staff and departments.

Now when you add a new employee, you can designate what department to add them to either by selecting an existing one from the dropdown, or by typing a new department name in the field, which will then create that department:

You can also create a new department in the normal manner:

Add Department

When adding either new people or new departments, you have the option to “Add Another”. Activating this switch keeps the creation window open until you have added as many as you need to:

All your adding, editing, and configuration options can be accessed by clicking on the orange button in the lower right-hand corner of the screen:

Also included in this fancy new UI are hotkeys – the menu is accessible by clicking the yellow button seen above, or by pressing Alt+K:

We encourage you to go explore the new UI – please let us know if you have any questions!

Edit Vehicle UI Update

By | Feature / Release | No Comments

We have made a small update to the UI on the Edit page for a vehicle in your Inventory Manager.

The lock/unlock fields are now easier to see and determine status on – just click to lock or unlock and save your changes! The appropriate status will be indicated by the darker icon:

Rename Platform Pages

By | Feature / Release | No Comments

We have created the ability to rename a platform page, affecting how it shows in the Navigation and dropdowns (as a reminder: a platform page is any page that ends in .aspx).

Previously, to customize the name of a platform a “local link” page had to be created and then the platform page was hidden from the site navigation.

Now, all you need to do is go into Site Content –> SEO Options.

Enter your custom page name in the “Custom Nav Name” field:

Save your changes, and once the cache is cleared, your new page name will show up on the site!:

Happy Naming!

Page Navigation Re-Ordering Update

By | Feature / Release | No Comments

You may have noticed a new button at the top of the Site Content Page:

Re-Order All Button

The new button will open up the following page, allowing you to drag and drop pages not only within the section they were created under, but to other sections as well!

Re-Ordering Page

Not only can you change the order of the pages, you can also add or remove section headings (items that show up on the navigation bar of your site) by simply checking or unchecking the box to the left of the page title.

Note: The three dots on the right-hand side change the cursor when hovering over to show that drag and drop functionality exists, but you can click anywhere on a line to drag it around, not just on the dots.

To summarize:

What is changing

  1. The new popup will include all sections and pages, not just one section.
  2. Pages can be moved between sections with the greatest of ease.
  3. Section headings can be designated or removed by clicking the checkbox in the “Section Header” column of the new popup.

What is not changing

  1. Drag and Drop functionality will still be present in the re-ordering popup
  2. Initially the old section re-ordering controls will remain active in the CMS until we are sure everything needed is included and working in the new controls. Once we are certain everything is working as it should be, the old controls will be phased out/cleaned up

We have added a new replacement code to make your life easier – this particular one will be especially useful in disclaimers!

The new replacement code is: #ENDOFMONTH#

This will automatically populate the last day for the current month (for example, in August, it will populate 8/31/2017).

We have made some slight adjustments to the Homepage Banners page in order to improve ease of use. The white “Delete List” button below the Current Banner list has been removed, and a new red “Mark All to Remove” button was added next to the red “Remove Selected” button. See the following screenshot for what this looks like now:

Dealer Search Bar in CMS

By | Feature / Release | No Comments

For those of you who maintain multiple websites, we now have a search bar available on the Dashboard of the CMS. It allows you to start typing the name of the dealership you’re searching for, then it will show possible matches . In the example below, using the demo Rothbard Auto Group, I have typed in the letters “bar,” which will then narrow my search to the rooftops with those letters in the name. Read More

By | Feature / Release | No Comments

We have added an option to implement an expiration date for any edits made to vehicles in inventory!

When an edit is made to a vehicle’s information, you can now set a date & time for the edit to expire. The field will stay locked until that date/time, ignoring updates from the feed, after which it will go back to updating with the rest of the feed. Read More
