CMS – Improvements to Home Page Banner Editor

We recently updated the logic of the Home Page Banner editor in the CMS to be more robust:

  • Changed “Delete” and “Add” checkboxes to  more user-friendly buttons
  • Disabled the “Update” button if no changes to the banner order have been made
  • Added a button to unlock banners for re-ordering
  • Added an indicator that the request is being processed so people don’t click on things while the page is reloading
  • Made improvements to tracking capabilities specific to banner order updates
  • Changed the “Update List” button to say “Rearrange Banner Order” to make it more user-friendly
  • Updated “Save” button to read “Save Order” when the banners have been rearranged
  • Moved “Rearrange Banner Order” button to the bottom of the page so it’s not lonely all by itself

Added Tracking to Dealer Header in CMS

We are changing the way the Dealer Header page appears to simplify use. Because only one of the headers can be the primary header, it is not necessary for the user to be able to up the dealer header number value higher than 1. Also, it is not ideal to have any other headers other than primary have a value higher than 0 . Therefore we have eliminated this option entirely. Screenshots attached.

Changes made:

  1. We removed the order incrementation. This means you no longer have to reorder the dealer headers to select your primary. You only need to click on the radio button to the left of the url you want to be primary.
  2. We also made this command asynchronous, meaning the page no longer needs to refresh to save the changes. As soon as you click the button next to the desired url, that change is made for you in the database.
  3. We have  moved the delete button from the left of the header url to the right, to follow along with the delete patterns of other cms pages. We have also made this a large and distinct button that clarifies its function.
  4. The Rank column has been removed entirely, and the primary dealer header is not indicated by highlighting the line of the url in  gold/ yellow.

CMS – Adjustments to Hide from Nav / Show on Sitemap functionality

Made adjustments to the sitemap column in site content area in the CMS. We now have the option to choose between fully visible, visible on sitemap only, and fully hidden. Added logic so that if the page is turned on, the sitemap toggle will be grayed out. Also moved the checkbox option out of the SEO settings into the site content area and added an additional column for “Exclude from Sitemap”

Update to Inventory Settings CMS Page for New Pricing System

Inventory Settings > Pricing options removed if the dealership is on new pricing system and a note was put in its place: “On New Pricing System Please See Dev or Inventory”

Remove all items related to old pricing mode in CMS – Under Inventory settings please hide any items that will no longer be functional if they are on the new pricing mode.

This includes button text, pricing mode and anything else.

It should state: On New Pricing System Please See Dev or Inventory

Dealer View Text: This dealer is on the new pricing system. Please contact your support team to request changes.
